Had a bad week? Struggling to maintain motivation? Had too many kicks while you're down? We've all had them, and you know what? We've all bounced back. For some, it's easier than others. For others, it feels like the world is closing in. But we thought we'd share some tips to help you when you've had candidates reject you, clients walk away, and everything else that could possibly go wrong!
Remind yourself of what you've achieved so far
Think about your achievements to date. How many people you've successfully placed, how many clients you've found the right people for, how many lives you've changed. Maybe you filled a job in record time, maybe you won a client you've been chasing for years. Whatever it is - you've done pretty alright so far! One bad week or month isn't going to be the end of you. You've got this!
Get some rest
We joke about computers needing to be turned off and on again to fix their problems - humans are the same! A good rest can do wonders. If you've had a rotten day, sometimes the best thing to do is go home, have a great dinner (and maybe some wine!) and then hit the sack. A solid 8-9 hours sleep can be all you need to see the world clearly again.
Find something to make you smile
Silly cat videos, babies falling over, dogs jumping into snow ... whatever takes your fancy, find it! The internet is an incredible source of information but it's also an unlimited supply of laughs. Sometimes you have to use it for its unintended purpose, and find something that lifts you out of the funk you're in.
Perspective - it's a thing
It can be easy to feel sorry for yourself when you're stuck in a rut. But sometimes you've got to find some perspective and consider what's really important. Things will pass, we all know that rationally, but it can be easy to forget when we're at the bottom of the roller coaster.Spend some time with your family, or do some volunteer work. Both can help you to see things in a different light. There's nothing like a 5 year old bluntly giving you their opinion on the world - out of the mouths of babes, indeed!
